Grafton is an inland country town. It is situated
along the Clarence River in an area popular for it sugar-cane
plantations. It is a very pretty town especially during its Jacaranda
Festival in October, when the streets are lined with beautiful
Mauve flowers from the trees. There is an interesting museum which
tells the history of the area, as well as an art gallery to visit.
If you want to stay in Grafton then accommodation isn’t a problem
with numerous motel and pub accommodation available.
Market Square shopping centre is where the local
buses depart from, although the buses travelling further afield
leave from the Shell service station on the highway. Premier has
reasonably priced transport north and south along the coast.
