Grampians National Park

The Grampians National Park covers a large area in the west of Victoria. There are some great Aboriginal rock art sites set amongst the beautiful flowers and rocky landscape. There is plenty to do within the park from bushwalking and rock climbing, to simply admiring the spectacular views.

The only town within the Grampians National Park is Halls Gap where you can find accommodation, buy food and fuel. Accommodation. There are plenty of scenic drives and walking tracks from Halls Gap, around the marvelous Wonderland Range. There is also a wildlife park here, where you can see a selection of native animals. To see wild kangaroos head over to the Zumstein Reserve, where you can also walk down to the amazing Mckenzie Falls.

There are various sites where you can see Aboriginal rock art, including Billimina Shelter, Gulgurri Manja Shelter, Manja Shelter and Ngamadjidi Shelter. You can find out about the rock art and join tours around the various sites from the Brambuk Living Cultural Centre.

If you'd prefer an active tour then there is plenty to choose from. Everything from bike riding, bushwalking, canoeing and rock climbing.

If you decide to follow one of the many walking trails around the park then there are numerous camping areas that you can stay at. Check at the Visitors Centre in Halls Gap for the best places to stay and current camping and fire regulations. The rangers in the centre will also be able to give you information about the plentiful walks.

You can get to the park on the V/Line bus service from Melbourne which takes you to Halls Gap, as well as on the local bus from Stawell.
